Are you thinking about going Carnivore? The Carnivore Diet is becoming very popular, but there have been questions about Vitamin C and even SCURVY! If you are considering this diet you should know a few facts about Vitamin C.

There are people who have been practicing Carnivory for 2 decades, and they have great skin, great muscles and all their teeth. How are they doing this when everyone Knows that you can only get vitamin C from fruits and a little from veg??

Turns out, as is the case regarding many nutrition topics, we've only been told half the story. This video, and my other videos about the carnivore diet, may help clear up any confusion about the safety of the carnivore diet.

Did carnivore for a weeks and when I reintroduced veg I could tell exactly which ones were upsetting my body. I am now 95% carnivore with the odd happy vegetable thrown in when my body says so. I am free of feeling obligated to eat anything just cause someone said I should. Carnivore really put me in touch with my body.

An additional thing to consider is this: Vitamin C and glucose are similar in their chemical structures. They compete for receptor sites on your cells to gain entrance. If you're eating a high-carb diet and your body relies on glucose for its energy, your requirement for Vitamin C goes way up because of the competition for those receptor sites.
On a carnivore diet, your blood isn't flooded with glucose, and you don't need nearly as much Vitamin C. In any case, there has never been a documented case of a carnivore developing scurvy.

Been carnivore for about 6 months now, I'm bruising very easily and finding myself feeling super lethargic and tired all of the time. My legs look like a game of BattleShip, little bruises, big bruises, long lines, spaced out. It's getting out of hand, and now some old bruises that are over 10 days old are RE-BRUISING in the same place.

I eat exclusively ground beef and eggs, I literally cannot afford to buy whole cuts of meat. And when I say I can't afford, I don't mean "It's too expensive and I don't want to spend my hard earned cash", I mean, "I literally cannot complete the transaction due to insufficient funds". We're not all well off.

Easy bruising and constant lethargy are the tell tale signs of early stage scurvy. When I cook my ground beef, I cook it until browned, I'm not eating raw ground beef, so it destroys what little vitamin c remains.

I need vitamin c, I've been needing it for months, I was a fool for thinking I don't need any, but shame on others for convincing me that "Just ground beef is fine" when it's not.

I was born in Finland and moved to America as a child, the food I've eaten all these years has left me obese and sick. Over the years I've craved fatty meats and salt, but was trained that this food would KILL me....Well, yesterday I started a 90 day lion diet and hope to lose weight and reverse some illness. Thank you for sharing what you have learned. Wish me luck, carbs have been very addictive.

I had to write about my diet and defend it in my Redefining Nutrition Class... My diet was a colorful sulfur rich diet that included regenerative meats and organs. The next research paper we had to write was a diet opposing ours. Since mine was "colorful" I had to go complete opposite with the carnivore diet. I felt I had completely set my self up to fail, but I was so convinced by the research I came across with the meat-based & plant-free diet that I think it was really earth shattering for the vegans that had to write and comment on my paper. As an ex-vegan, I now realize there is no one way for every person to eat, but many! Carnivore diet may bring relief to some and others it's not their jam. Listen to your body y'all. You are your own best advocate for your health. You are the captain of your microbe and bacterial earth vessel we call a body. There are more microbes and bacteria inside all of us that are trying to get us to homeostasis EVERY SECOND!!! Try not to throw a wrench in their processes if you can... they will appreciate it!

That’s great info, it’s one of the questions I’m often asked, my husband always starts his day with an orange. I start it with bacon and eggs, with black decaf coffee. 2.5 years and I don’t have scurvy or any other adverse affect from Carnivore.
In fact there’s a host of benefits.
Carnivore is the PHD 🥩

Some people wont tolerate and allergics to eggs, other cannot metabolize plant based, others cannot eat starchy food etc..The point is: you really need to try what its best suited for you and stay with that your body will tell you.

Keto never worked for me though I tried for months and learned all I could about it. No weight lost and no inches. Plant based I slowly lost some weight, but no inches. Yay, 2 weeks in on carnivore and all that middle-aged middle is melting away. If I start to feel bad might add a few greens, but so enjoy the absence of bloating.

I was prescribed one Vitamin C and one Iron pill twice a week following excessive blood loss from my hip replacement. My RDW was 16.9 %. I'm one week into Carnivore. Thank you for this post, and for all that you and Neisha do!!! <3

Day 15.

I’m sure I messed up big. My dog of 17 years is no longer. I benged. I ate a cup of pecans. Darn! At least I’m waking up to a 72 hour fast. I get to weigh in the morning. I’ve felt good. Now excited to see if I’ve lost any weight. Thanks for your support.

Keto for over a year, now I'm on day 7 of getting flatter! I'm not having any cravings and I'm so satisfied! I wasn't sure I could do it, but I'm going for at least 30 days

I have to say I was at my wits end with all the diets including Keto because it wasn't working for me.. I felt like crap still, still had severe D I have just gone carnivore listening to you because you were talking about toxins in veggies and how it might affect a few. Well I'M in that Percentage that it harms. Aver a week and a half the D. has lessened by so far 50 percent and starting to have a normal bowel movement now and again.. I'm going to continue on to see how far this will take me and eventually go to Carnivore 100% of the time. This is a Miracle for me because forever I've had intestinal problems with celiac, SIBO, Microscopic colitius, loss of gallbladder, Difficult pregnacies bringing on my celiac 100 fold. This is the first time in my 55 years that I'm starting to feel good and healing!!!! How exciting :D
