It’s really important for menopausal women to add strength/resistance training to all these tips 💪🥰

Idk how I stumbled on your page but I needed to see this. I’m 43 and since I had my last child at 35 while I suffer with thyroid disease, fibromyalgia, severe vitamin D deficiency along with other things has been a struggle. Before I got pregnant with him I was the healthiest I’ve ever been I had lost 65lbs in a year and when he turned 2 months old I noticed that I was putting on weight like crazy and in 2 months I gained all I lost back and of course I wasn’t eating who has time for that with a newborn. I also noticed that I was constantly hot and sweating. I’ve never sweated so much in my life so I chopped it up to hormones and was being ignored by my doctors so I just decided that having him must’ve threw my hormones and thyroid outta wack but here it is almost 8 years later and nothing has worked. I’m sure having him put me into premenopausal status. I can’t lose my gut which is where all the weight as went. It sucks when I only gained 17lbs in my pregnancy and I put that back on along with 50 more pounds in what seemed like a matter of weeks. I will be following you for more advice because I’ve tried it all .

If you're pouring dry chia on your collagen, is not the right way to take it and may cause problems in your gut later on. First you ALWAYS pour chia in a glass of water or any kind of liquid for at least 10 minutes or until jelly like, this is a MUST, and then drink it, that's the right way.

To be honest, perimenopause is making me eat a lot less compared to when my girlies were more active. I just don't feel that urge to steal cookies, chocolate, Nutella or whatever tasty available.
Plus, sweats are helping in getting rid of excess weight.

It’s so lovely and encouraging to see somebody “real and believable “ talking about their weight loss journey, while adding a little humour. Thank you.

Nothing In the UK curriculum about the menpouse in women most of the time is spent on how not to get pregnant, the menpouse is still seen as a taboo subject this is a serious condition, that causes severe symptoms. In women it's as if we all get to a certain age and are invisible, , , , its time for change

I lost55 pounds by avoiding white sugar, wte flour, and wte rice !!!
I stopped craving sweets when I started eating fruit for snacks and desserts. I eat more veggies! Experiment to find more than peas, corn, and carrots. 55 pounds!!! Moderate exercise included, I walk my dog 1 mile a day.

I tried intermittent fasting, eating only one meal per day. It made me miserable and after two months I had only lost 500gms! Eating less is not the answer! I had a high stress office job which I retired from at the end of last year and have been steadily losing .5 - 1kg per month without even trying. I put it down to reducing stress and moving more. It’s not much but I figure it took several years to accumulate the weight, so as long as it’s heading in the right direction I can be patient.

My anti-aging and functional medicine doctor recommended most of this too. Her recommendations to me were the following.
Tulsi tea to help reduce cortisol, eating whole, organic foods whenever possible- avoid processed foods, sugars and sugar substitutes, Paleo diet (based on my inflammatory gut issues), meditation, exercises like yoga, piyo, or walking, natural beauty and hygiene products (chemicals we use on our body absorbs into our skin and our livers must process them- I use a salt stone for deodorant) drinking filtered water, avoid plastic as much as possible (it altars hormones), drink home made bone broth for collagen, fermented foods, Inner Ecco probiotic, and some other helpful lifestyle changes such as paying attention to what type of containers I store food in (should be glass), what metals I bake on or cook with (avoid aluminum- use stainless steel, some ceramics are ok, iron skillets). I was also advised to not do high intensity, high impact workouts. Low intensity, low impact for no more than 30-45 minutes three to five times a week was her recommendation because anything more increases the cortisol which leads to weight gain, sleep disturbances, and increases risk of cancer.

I’m so grateful I’ve come across your menopause channel. I have been suffering in silence with so many and had no idea these symptoms were a NORMAL part of menopause. Your episodes are literally saving my sanity. Thank you so much!!!

I'm so glad you stated UNDEREATING!!! So many women do this, and also overexercising!! I wish more women understood this.

I think incorporating strength training during perimenopause is key. We tend to lose muscle mass as we age and need to hang on to as much of it as we can. I lift heavy weights 3-4 times a week and try to do some cardio or walking also.Even doing this I still need to lose some weight, but the exercise helps me mentally cope with some of the other issues of perimenopause

When I was fed up with gaining weight (thinking: where will this end?) I cut back on sugar in general, I eat 3 meals a day, no unhealthy snacking in between, fruit once a day & some nuts. For a healthy gut I eat fat yoghurt (with oats or granola) in the morning.
And I do a little intermittent fasting every day. So no eating after dinner for 14hrs. I lost some weight very quickly and the weightgain stopped. Furthermore I have accepted that I will never be a (european) size 38 ever again.

Now, I'm more keto but trying to figure out how to lose when I once lost so easily on the Atkins diet. Thank you for being here! Today is Day 0.
