Taken from chapter 16.

In this excerpt, after Palpatine reveals himself to Anakin. Anakin rushes back to the Jedi Temple to tell Mace Windu the news he has just learned. Mace Windu loves the Republic and is willing to do anything to keep it safe. However, despite being told this news by Anakin, he refuses to bring him along. Anakin is to wait in the council chamber room until Windu returns.

I prefer this version over the version in the film. It adds more suspense and excitement.

While this makes it easier to understand why Mace kept Anakin at the temple, he should have given him something to do. Prepare the temple in case of attack or get the younglings out in case something goes wrong. Don't leave someone trapped in their own fears alone.

I love how Palpatine was able to provoke a much more profound and visceral reaction from Anakin after revealing his true identity than Anakin/Vader himself did when he revealed his own true identity to Luke.

Palpatine being the Dark Lord of the Sith is an even greater shock than Darth Vader being Luke Skywalker's father.

2:05 calling Anakin a shatterpoint and saying he’s bomb that could destroy the universe is a massive understatement 😨.

You really feel bad for Anakin in this. He’s portrayed as being sick from grief, fatigue, and fear, rather than the sense of unease that is shown in the movie. Also, mace realizing everything he fought for and sacrificed was for a republic that was already felled by the sith is better than the meme-worthy “a Sith Lord?”

4:05 He probably worded it slightly different, but "I think Chancellor Palpatine is a Sith Lord" is only eight words. 🤓
