Russia backing out of Ukraine grain deal, Kremlin blames Ukraine for deadly explosions

Putin backed out because the grain was meant for poor countries. Instead, the grain went to the EU which mostly wasn’t approved. The poor countries? They saw very little grain and most are now in a famine which was worsened by grain not being delivered.

"Backing out" is an interesting way of describing an agreement that has a negotiated expiration date and has expired.
The correct way to frame this is that Russia will not continue with the current expired contract, but is willing to re-negotiate.
Not nearly as sensational a story, but it is the truth.
