Great CPU for the X570S boards. Works flawless with 3600mz DDR and RX5700XT. With a 360 AIO mine runs under 38 Celsius consistently.

Just gonna point this out you have to have a graphics card to use the 5900x. If you don't plan to have a dedicated gpu don't buy the 5900x.

I have the 5900x paired with MEG S360 cooler, 3080TI with 32gb 3600mhz Corsair vengeance, for about 17 months and I have never had any issue with any demanding game I have thrown at it.

I used precision boost override in my BIOS (under volted) & I unparked all my cores, yet I still cannot get it above 4.2ghz. No matter what I do, whichever overclock I try, it doesn’t help & it was stuck at 4.2ghz even before I undervolted it

I recommended the 5900X to a friend as an upgrade to a good Dell OEM system with a Ryzen 7 1700, meanwhile i bought the i7-12700K for a niche production stuff.

My advice since i just upgraded to this, if you are building a new PC dont buy this one but rather go for the new AM5 platform and buy a ryzen 5 7600x or ryzen 7 7700x since you will have support till 2027+ and later on you can upgrade to a ryzen 9 9900x or the next gen. But if you already own an AM4 mobo with a ryzen 5 3600x or 5600x the you should upgrade to this one. Building a new PC with the AM4 platform is not worth it, you will be wasting money unless you are on a budget.
