In this video I am going to show How to Setup an FTP Server on Windows 10.
Building your own FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server can be one of the easiest and most convenient solutions to transfer file through a private or public network without limitations and restrictions typically found with most cloud storage services.

Having a FTP server on internal or external network is always easy and faster to share and access files over the network. Windows 10 , 8 and 8.1 come with built-in FTP server feature under Internet Information Service features which needs to be installed before use.

Excellent... excellent instruction. This was very helpful to me. At work the guys on the shop floor have a monitoring program on their fork-lift trucks that will monitor the movement of all the fork-left vehicles at any given time. The software will generate log files and those log files must be FTPed to a folder for analyzing purposes. I followed your instructions on my home personal computer for practice and it work absolutely great the very first time. Now I have to do this on my Windows Server at work. Thank you for the great instruction on this!

Great video. It was a little finicky but I got it to work (after a PC restart). Remember to turn your Windows firewall back on once you get the FTP server to work!

Video is good, but do not turn off the Firewall. Instead of this go to Advanced settings of the Firewall -> Inbound rules -> New Rule. And add both TCP and UDP rules for your port (21 in my case).

It worked! But if you will use this ftp server to connect from another device (ex. cell phone) you will need to add svchoct.exe to Windwos' firewall expection and allow public and private connections in order to work.

I've tried it. But when I enter the address of my ftp, the browser doesn't react at all. Nothing happens. I can't access the server. What may be the problem?
