May 2020: used on a basic XBox One controller purchased in November 2019. After 6 months the left stick was sending Drift which made menu surfing impossible. Selecting a rifle in COD was like playing wheel of fortune. I followed the instructions in this video and it works great now.

Yep... Removing the grey clip worked, although my joy pad fell apart n was a nightmare putting it back together again.
