New Fix stick drift. Everyone meet up at Microsoft and dump all the controllers at the front door.

It worked ! Just take in consideration :
Up, down => change the right one.
Right, left => change the down one.

The washer (moving piece in the middle) can wear out, and the hub (the black piece inside the casing) can get scratched up from the wear and tear. If you do not see any scratches then you don't need to remove the hub.
If you aren't careful and bend the springs on the washer, it might make the drifting worse with calibration malfunctions.

These manufacturers need a class action lawsuit for these because EVERY SINGLE dang Xbox Controller I've bought (Elite Series II, Power A, Base Wireless Series X Controller, and Walmart Wireless Series X Controllers)all get stick drift. I work out and have strong hands but I baby my controllers and after 2-3months; Bam another one.

That green thingy is called a potentiometer

Have you tried the usual solution for fixing potentiometers, like volume controls on music players, etc? Get a can of contact cleaner, and squirt a little bit onto the track of the potentiometer. Then turn it back and forth a load of times. Often fixes it unless the thing's really worn away to nothing. But usually it's just dirt and skin oil.

So what I've been doing is sometimes its the analog stick itself that is causing the drift... I'll leave the 2 green potentiometers in and replace the stick... It requires soldering 4 mounts and 4 smaller pins for the R3 or L3 button... BUT since you aren't necessarily messing with the potentiometers, you have a much better chance of being dang close to zero when reinstalling the controller.

I didn’t order the exact ones but it worked. The only problem I had was putting them in because there so small but otherwise great fix!

You can also saturate it with isopropyl alcohol, and then regrease with a dielectric grease.

Where's the link to the part you said would be in the description? Need to know what to get.

I can confirm this piece is the issue. My dualsense had what seems to be the standard left stick left drift and i fixed it by removing the piece and wiping it off with a dry q tip and reinserting original pieces and had absolutely zero pull now.

This is my favorite fix. I just took the old one from my other controller and its good as new. I tried cleaning it out like 10 times and it didnt work, as soon as i put the other piece it and back together it was perfect. Deadzone back to 0

I saw lots of bend-and-wipe-with-cotton, and lots of de-solder-and-replace. This is the first bend-and-replace. It seems the carbon stripe need some cleanup too.

I think its actually the graphite pad (green part) that gets destroyed by the metal rubbing on it. you can temporarily fix it by cleaning it.
