The only thing I would add is it’s much better for the patient to say “I have schizophrenia but it’s managed well on medication” rather than “medication cured my schizophrenia”. It’s very common for these patients to stop taking their mental health medications because they think they’re cured and don’t need to take meds anymore, which always leads to a relapse deep into their mental illness leading to rehospitalization or worse. Also, some of the antipsychotics are wildly expensive and may have severe side effects for some patients.

shes right doctors know so less about mental illnesses, theres a medical doctor in my family that used to scare me off saying how i look anorexic and an anorexic, yes i was but nobody knew about it but this doctor chose to mock and ridicule me, patronise the illness itself which is pathetic
