My boyfriend has schizophrenia but also works a 9-5! He doesnt take any medication because thats what works best for him. Hes such a hard worker and provides for our life together. I love him so much.

i was diagnosed 12 years ago to the day, i have had all these issues, i thought someone was always watching me and a hear a voice that no one else hears it sucks i have been in a mental hospital 10 times, but they finally found a med that i can use that helps with my version of the disorder, but i cant work and my old life seems so far away

Also schizophrenia can feel like someone is in your brain but it just won’t go away I was diagnosed with it this year and I’m taking medicine for it that really help

I'm sorry if this affends any of you but..I'm glad that you were able to get diagnosed. Not because I'm trying to be rude but because there's something wrong with me or several things wrong and my parents don't believe in mental illness or things like that so I really can't get any help or ask for any because...I'm just not able to. And I have tried to seek someone out myself but I don't have money.

I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia but I don't have hallucinations or delusions and when i have it was just people lying to me about something they did against me and pinning it on my "psych issues" the schizophrenia just makes me super awkward everywhere because I don't know what to sau to people about anything and am not confident anyone will take what i am saying the way i intend or what people want from me.

Alright I don’t want to seem like a lier to my parents. They keep gaslighting me when I say I feel like I have this because everything doesn’t feel real and I can’t tell if I’m imagining something or not. I also have heard the song lyrics change in music I am listening too and my reflection do things I’m not. I seek help but my mom won’t believe anything I say. I tried to tell her she just says things like “you’re not being truthful or honest” or “you just want attention” or “you just want a diagnosis” or “this stuff doesn’t make sense you don’t have that” how would she know if I have these symptoms? She barely talks to me and she isn’t in my skin. I feel like I’m shifting into that 2nd phase right now bc I’m hearing more things and seeing things my friends aren’t. I didn’t think I had schizophrenia until my health class started talking about schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I figured I feel like I have both of these, so I looked it up. You can’t have both but you can have schizoaffective disorder which is basically bipolar-schizophrenia. I did tests like 6 online for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and they all came out positive with key symptoms and all that. The online tests don’t make a diagnosis which is why I’m gonna try to convince my mom to take me to a psychologist for autism or adhd but instead of even talking about those things I’m going to instantly bring this up. Because I know she would never bring me there for this, which is why I have to convince her to take me for something else so that I can be able to get medicated for this.
