Tears For Fears’ timeless dystopian hit

It sounds like summer, but the lyrics address serious issues in a way that made it a timeless classic. “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears became a worldwide smash hit when it was released in 1985, during the Cold War between the US and Russia, but over time it has proven itself to be evergreen on a range of concerns, from the environment to dictatorship. It has been covered by over 140 artists, including Don Henley, who inspired the shimmery sound of the song with his hit, "The Boys Of Summer." And, incredibly, it was written at the last minute, the very last song to make it to the band’s second album. Let’s get into why this song has had such a lasting impact in this episode of the Behind The Song podcast.

As I've mentioned before, I enjoy your content because you are so thorough and precise in your description of whatever band you're talking about!
I don't leave many comments, but I was inspired to do so because I thought about my 2nd favorite song of all time! It's A Long Way There by The Little River Band from their debut album!
I think it's a very underrated song, mainly because it's not that well known! I realize you can't feature everything your viewers request, but I hope you end up featuring this amazing tune! Thanks a lot and take care! LET me get one more request in because I don't always have time to leave comments! The timeless classic Nights In White Satin by The Moody 💙 Blues! Thanks again and have a great one!

This is one of the most preeminent, monumental songs to come out of the 1980s. Still resonates powerfully today. Only now as an adult, have I truly grasped the significance behind the lyrics. Thanks for showcasing this great track and excellent band.
