The Thing deserves an honorable mention because it blends innovative practical effects and horror with themes of mistrust and paranoia.

Ripley using the powerloader in Aliens saying " Get away from her you bitch!" Will always be an iconic movie quote to me.

I would've included Arrival (Denis Villeneuve), Interstellar (Christopher Nolan) and A Clockwork Orange (Stanley Kubrick)

Yup, all classics, I’ve seen them all. Too bad the list is too short to include films already mentioned by others: Thing, Gattaca, Equilibrium, Moon, District 9.

I thought Close Encounters of the Third Kind would at least have had an honorable mention. I loved that movie. Those famous five musical notes always get stuck in my head after watching though.

Pretty much every movie in this list was a stepping stone toward a new era of movie-making. We knew that the effects of Terminator 2 would change cinema. The same for Aliens, The Matrix, etc. It's like being part of a cultural moment.

Blade Runner, and Blade Runner 2049 are my fave scifi movies, dark yet beautifully filmed and score is what makes it amazing to watch.

This ranking is a totally joke. Avatar? Really space Pocahontas is a great movie? Aliens and not Alien of Ridley Scott? Do you have a deal with Jame Cameron? If Aliens is included why not The thing from John Carpenter? Are you serius? Her, Back of the Future and Eternal Sunshine are great movies but not Sci Fi, they both are almost fantasy...Terminator 2 is better than Blade Runner? are you twelve years old kids? I remember seeing 'Empire Strikes Back' at the cinema when it came out many moons ago, the classic line from Darth Vader had everyone yelling and screaming, it was such a surprise but also a great movie. You could have included 'The 5th Elements' and '12 Monkeys'- also great films. Cheers

Bladerunner: 2049 (obviously the orig is better, but the sequel is very good IMO)

The Thing 1982 and The Hidden 1987 should have been on here in lieu of Avatar 2009 despite being horror/sci-fis but Her 2013 and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2004 are not sci-fi films just creative dramas.
