What is a normal blood sugar level for diabetes type 2? Registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist, Wendi Sullivan answers this question from two different guidelines — American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and American Diabetes Association (ADA). These are good metrics to help you understand how insulin sensitive you are and how your body responds to what you eat. Also, these organizations vouch for both medication and some dietary changes to help people lower their blood glucose level and A1C level. But is having a lower blood glucose and A1C level enough?

This is now where Mastering Diabetes makes a distinction. With Mastering Diabetes' program, thousands have reversed their insulin resistance by making lifestyle changes and maintaining a low fat plant-based whole foods diet. They don't have to take medication anymore. Again, this is made possible by addressing insulin resistance as the underlying cause of type two diabetes and pre-diabetes.

But watch the video if you want to go back to the first question.

What should one do if they are the only one doing the plant based diet out of 3 people in the household and one income coming in. We can't afford what my husband and son want to eat and what I need to eat. Plus I don't know how to cook a lot of things. I normally get 1 hour with my dietician but she was late coming in even after they had me change my appointment to accommodate her timing. So I only got 30 minutes with her to learn about something I never heard of before. I thought leaving the appt that I could do this on my own. I am in a few groups but they are not helping me at all. I am just so lost. Maybe come November when I see my new endocrinologist due to my husband's insurance dropping my previous one will be better at helping me with this.
