Snape was in pain. When Harry confronted him. Even when Professor McGonagall confronted him. No one knew the game he was playing. This is raw sadness. He didn't even attack back. Being the half blood Prince and a potion master he could've done serious damage. He didn't even attack her back.

Radcliffe gets some heat for his acting skills not being great, but this was a peak seen for him. "How dare you... tell them what happened... how you looked him in the eye..." that monologue is expertly delivered.
