After Minerva realized how Snape lived his life, she added a portrait of Snape in the gallery of previous headmasters and headmistresses with admiration.

I like how Snape hesitates when Professor McGonagall takes out her wand. Snape is like god dammit Dumbledore I did not sign up for this!!!

Never noticed that Snape intentionally took out the Carrows before he escaped. With just that one move he protected all the students and kept his facade going.

Notice he never once attempts to fight McGonagall back, only defend himself. He promised to protect Hogwarts and everyone in it, even as a double agent, this was no exception. Carrows stunned and he makes it look like he's escaping. The fact McGonagall is such a strong duelist just adds to his ploy but you can tell he REALLY didn't want that to happen either.

Harry: (steps out)
Snape: (internally) Oh god dammit I didn't mean actually do it.

I just love how professor MCGonagall steps in to protect Harry without a shadow of a doubt.

RIP Alan Rickman! The way you played Snape and the delivery of his lines, was nothing short of a masterclass.

And this is the story of how Severus defeated 2 Carrows by just deflecting someone else spells, saving countless student lifes and  keeping his double agent identity safe and all thus while performing a badass escape .

*everyone parts like the red sea*

The pain of the face of snape as his former friend raises her wand at him honestly brakes me.
Snape is so distressed that he doesn’t even make an attempt to even look like he’s fighting back.
You can clearly tell that this is one fight that snape desperately did not want to engage in and yet all he can do is defend himself knowing that it will all be worth it in the end.

This scene makes me so sad because Minerva yelled coward after him as he flew out the window but really he just didn't want to harm her. He looks so sad throughout the whole thing and the Harry and Minerva come out and you can see him break a little.

I love how when Snape draws his wand, everyone gasps and shuffles a little, trying to avoid his line of sight but not a whole lot.
But when McGonogall pulls her wand, everyone screams and runs for cover. They all know what's up.

Not only purposely deflects the spells to the Carrows, but Snape also picks up their wands (2:48 - 2:50) before leaving, so that they can't harm the students in case they come round.

Not only he redirected Mcgonagall's attacks on the death eaters, he remained on the defensive, and notice he didn't immediately fly away. He hops towards the death eaters corpses taking their wands with him


Even if the whole School turned against him he protected everyone in the end😭

I love that the Order didn’t even try to intervene. When they saw Minerva step up they were like, “Nah. She’s good.”

I don't think people realise just how powerful this scene is, not just because mcgonagall steps in to fight and defend Harry, but because of the relationship between Snape and mcgonagall, the is no doubt she taught him when he was a student, perhaps having a close relationship similar to what Harry or Neville has with her, as well as her knowing he is a good guy deep down but others can't know that. :'(

If there is one thing I've noticed about Professor McGonagall, it's that she's always been consistent in the strong belief she had for the safety and protection of her students.

This scene is so much better when you know his arc. Realising he doesn't fight back but instead deflects to take out the people behind him is so good. I genuinely didn't pick up on it until I'd watched back. He's such a great character
