i use to watch wukong all the time when i was a kid, and the gold rod staff was originally hidden as a pole structure to hold up the underwater dragon palace, thats why once he took the golden rod, he caused natural destruction and the celestial police was on his ass because of that, he was then pulled up as a prison to be burned in a cauldron, but instead of dying wukong ended up enduring the flames and powering up instead gaining the ability to have feiry vision which lets him see anything. And then he just goes on a all out rampage on celestial gods till buddha put him down
