Hi Loraine, I met mine in 2012 and he passed away in 2017. He taught me so many things and was so loving and selfless with me. We both knew our connection was unique even though at the time had no knowledge of twin flames. There are no words in human language to describe it. I still miss him so much but feel him everywhere and he is still looking after me. Btw, when we met I was 56 and he was 75. This made it all the more extraordinary because it was perfect timing even though to most it wouldn’t seem so. ❤

What you are describing is Limerence and Trauma Bond. It's magical thinking to assume someone is a fragment of yourself, and to tolerate mixed signals, waiting out life for someone who is just stringing you along (or said no, and you keep pushing for something).

I think many confuse the twin flame signs with narcissist traits because the context of each dynamic are really similar. The running and chasing phase runs close with bread crumbing. Someone only giving small bits of love or returning to get what they need out of you is not love. I myself have often thought the one of the purposes of the twin flame journey was recognize unloving behaviors in order to love and respect myself better, learn boundaries and appropriate behavior from people around me. There is too much literature about twin flames where I believe the information is beginning to border on gaslighting and causing a belief system that accepting the narcissistic abuse is a twin flame connection. That inter-relation and knowing the difference opened up a big fat wound and revealed a narcissistic relationship in my life. One that I did not see coming. So let me leave you with this… if you firmly believe you are a twin flame (and you are reading and taking this comment seriously) research the signs of a TF connection and compare with narcissistic abuse. Understand that your true TF will not intentionally hurt you, but a narcissist will. Write in a journal and document if you need to, it’s worth comparing and understanding the difference. Because had that similarity not been pointed out to me, I would have been stuck in a very unhealthy and vicious cycle without a means to get myself out. Best of luck on your souls journey. The TF is an incredibly deep connection with yourself, and I truly hope you find yourself. As within, so without.
