Absolutely it is all about control. Control overrides everything thing. They can’t love because they aren’t in control to give it or receive it. It’s some kind of crazyland they live in. I’ve decided I don’t want to live there with them.

Being nonreactive around a narcissist keeps us from lowering ourselves to their level, which is what they want.

They can’t be what other people are…kind, respectful, civil, supportive, etc. Others have a better awareness of why they do what they do, feel what they feel. They want depth and meaning. Narcissists are bent on appearances. They hate that they can’t be whole.

The Narcissist I know is such an angel in front of her pastor and congregation but when she's alone with me she's a completely different individual. Had a narcissistic tantrum recently and will absolutely not take any responsibility for at all whatsoever. Trying to go no contact.

Seems to me that they hate goodness. So they criticize, demean and mistreat those who are kind and empathetic. They cannot stand to see anyone have happiness or contentment.
