I was married to a narcissist who was hoarder for 35 years. I was diagnosed with cancer and I could no longer live in that house safely. They wouldn’t treat me until I found a safe place to go at that point she filed for divorce when she found out she could no longer control me. Praise God I’m free from the night nightmare I’m free from cancer now.

One thing I’ve noticed is they ask questions as though they’re interested, but actually just fishing to get some dirt, either on you or on someone else. They love gossip. Their questions is only a fishing exercise.

Married to someone like this who had complete control over me. When the last child married and moved out I told him he was not going to control me ever again. The explosion was unbelievable with him accusing me of every vile thing one can image. I left the next day and never looked back. Got counseling I needed and treatment for depression. The freedom I felt was undescribable.

The hardest part I found was, Its how they have painted you as the bad one, but subtly, you never actually know whats been said or gone in the background, just get subtle hints from people being off, or distant or just strange and you dont know why. You slowly get drip fed whats been said in private about you, Its not what theyve said that hurts the most, its how easily they have convinced EVERYONE it was you, how easily they turned everyone against you, and by the time you even find out its too late, the damage is done, and anything you say or do its too late, they wont ever unlearn the negative way youve been portrayed. You end up Isolated, alone, hated and confused.
