Neanderthals needed around x4 the amount of calories to stay alive from their stalky frames. Their smaller counterparts didn’t need as much food to survive. Neanderthals died of starvation is one of the biggest hypothesis. (Just took anthropology and we learned a lot of theories about these guys) (:
