I'm an oldie and didn't meet any of the extremely troubled (I had huge issues as well) exes in my life via dating and don't recall any mirroring behaviour.

I did experience over-the-top love bombing via text messages with the last one, which was new to me. I've certainly learnt my "lesson" though and it's ridiculous when I look back. 😂

I joked with my ex-wife when we were dating and completely tripped her up.

We went to the pool and I told her I was going to wear my Speedos.

It was actually a pair of Speedo brand swim trunks, which I didn't know they made until that pair, but looked cool and made for a fun joke.

Looking back, it was totally out of character for me to have the traditional Speedos, so she was almost in a panic because she didn't know how to mirror me.

A wrong move, in her mind, would have blown her cover that she was a fake.

I put this to the test. Was already in the devaluation stage and I noticed myself getting very insecure and they would say ugh I don’t have time to see you, why do you always want to be included. And I started to feel somewhat disgusted with myself, like the world has to put up with me. Which by the way, why the f uck would you want to make someone feel that way, yuck. But then I thought to see if they would make an effort again if I completely switched up my personality, or the persona that they assigned to me. So I said you know what I like and how I am? Very Spontaneous. So the next day, they show up at my house (after Months of this prior horrible treatment, and just saying they didn’t have time, and I should not be so demanding or whatever), and go for a drink. I had to kind of bit my cheek to not let them know I’m on to what they do. So I they kept this for only that time and after a week or so it was discard again. Just leave these a holes alone. They’re not going to change, they just want to suck you dry like a parasite because they don’t have the balls to do something about their crap personality.
