It really is unexpected how the right person can be just right around the corner. I still find it crazy how I met the man who changed my fear of dating men. I was just really depressed one day and bought a stranger a gift. He was eyeing something particular and I could tell he really wanted to get it, so to compensate for my depression I figured I'd just attempt a kind gesture. I expected the encounter to end there. He was so incredibly grateful that he wanted to pay me back somehow, and offered to teach me a new skill at an event that was happening a few nights later. I didn't really want to, but I decided that I'd humor him since i'd gain a new skill from it anyway so i didn't have much to lose from it, and it sounded like a smarter idea than going home to rot in my mind.

I have never met a better man in my life, and while we've decided not to date for many various reasons, I definitely know that if i ever want to date a guy again, that there are people like him out there which is something I had sort of given up hope on. He's become my best friend and has shown me that there are some truly wonderful guys out there
