I'm a bisexual woman and I think your suggestion about going to a boutique gym is spot on. I live in Philadelphia (which, of course, is not NYC or DC) and the cost of an unlimited Pilates membership ranges from $160-$220/month. I get the feeling that most of the women I practice with are heterosexual, but I'm sure there are some gay/bisexual/bicurious women as well. Regardless, $160 - $220/month is a lot for working class people but not much for high income people. Regardless, it is an investment of time and money. The people I have met at these boutique studios are, for the most part, very hardworking, kind, and down to earth. They also work out hard and don't mind sweating. (I go to a hot pilates/yoga studio where the temp during class is 105F/40C.) I do think that if you'd like to meet someone high income but are not high income yourself, you need to frequent places on a regular basis where high income people hang out. Finally someone talks about the importance of building yourself during your entire life (other than Anna Bey). I've been correcting my finances and I feel like I can marry now at any time, if the opportunity shows up, because I can actually afford a wedding without getting into credit (nuts, ik). I can also afford a down payment on a house if I want to. So I'm not ashamed to date guys that got their stuff together, because I got my stuff together as well. If he wants to pay for it, even better! My money can go into savings for the kids college.

In uni I had a best friend that came from generational wealth. It was totally by accident and she was extremely accommodating and understanding. She taught me a lot about the simple choices with money on every day life rich people make. Very different considerations.
