It's finally here! The PS5 Internal M.2 SSD Storage Expansion. In this video, I take you through the process of Installation & Test. I'll be installing the Samsung 980 PRO SSD 1TB (No heatsink version). I'll also be showing how to install an external heatsink to this M.2 SSD to make it compatible with PS5 gameplay.

You got yourself a new subscriber bro. You went straight to the point and the timestamps were very welcome. I've ordered myself a WD Black SN850 without the heatsink. I've bought a nice copper heatsink for this single side M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

I think I'm gonna leave the M.2 cover that came with the PS5 for what it is. There should be some airflow over the SSD.

I'm here to confirm the WD SN850 works as well and the read/write speed is about 6600 mb per second.

I already know how to install an M.2 (did it with my laptop), but I was just interested to see how you'd explain it if I was a laymen. And I have to say, you explained this very well and this would defo be able to help a layman out with installing an SSD to the PS5. People are trying to make it out to be like open heart surgery, but I am very happy that your video essentially demonstrates to these people with concerns that it's quite a simple mod to do that takes only minutes.

Thanks for making the video. One comment on the heatsink is that the heat can cause the rubber bands to deteriorate and break off, if they don’t have good quality, so buying those screw fixed ones might be better. It’s as cheap and easy to install.

Dude I’m not at all hating on your video you made a great video and made the steps easy to follow. With that said this is ridiculous that the community needs to beta test this memory expansion from their own pockets. This should be something tested and perfected by Sony not the gamers. Honestly there is no excuse for this feature not being available for 8 months after launch.

Look at SeriesX for example. The expansion was available at launch and it’s as easy as taking it out the box and plugging it and your done.

But anyways great video again. I’m not hating on your content you did a great job. I’ll hit the like button on my way out ✌️
