Place the "spacer" the screw was in, to the correct size for the SSD.

You forgot to move the spacer to the correct position. Now you have a loose piece of metal in the SSD bay.

That ring near the 110 mark is a spacer you are supposed to put in the hole you put the screw in securing the ssd, this to keep it in place and to sure the ssd sits firmly tightened

Heads up. You can get the exact same SDD from Western Digital without the playstation branding, for cheaper. The only difference is the packaging

Step 5.5 Don't lose the screw inside your PS5 like I did. Much shaking and frustration ensued

I’ve looked at a bunch of videos non of them helped the one the guys hand was covering the whole time. Thanks for posting thought I’d be up all night trying to install this.

Seems like you forgot to move the standoff. You are bending the SSD and the connector and the standoff is now rattling around in there which could in worst case scenario cause a short.

On an other note. You don't need the "PS5" Version of this SSD. The WD_Black SN850 or SN850X (the latter being slightly faster) is the same thing. But you really should get one with a heatsink since they can run quite hot, and there isn't any heat dispersion for it in the PS5 like there is on most PC Motherboards.

And lastly, when looking for SSDs for your PS5, you'll want the read speed to be AT LEAST 5.500 MB/s to not butcher your on board SSD since that's the PS5s read speed. This particular SSD in the short has a 7.000 MB/s read speed.

DONT USE THE SSD WITHOUT THE SPACER. Possibly damage to the connection point. And you will have a loose spacer inside your beloved ps5 😖

I was recently browsing on Amazon and discovered that there is a metal heat dispenser for the SSD. I just bought it because I want my PS5 Slim, including my SSD, to have good ventilation. If they overheat, obviously, it's gonna be an issue.
