Title says "Monitor for Programming" but mentioned issues about streaming.
If we are talking about programming, better focus on layout used and IDE to understand what PPI is required.

I have been debating with myself for a long time, whether to go 34" Ultrawide or get another 27" 4k for my dual-screen setup.
Eventually, I got 32" 4k paired with my existing 27" 4k. I have a feeling that I might not feel comfortable working with less vertical space and I will use the second display anyway.
Now I use my 27" as a secondary monitor in portrait mode, but I can twist and turn easily with the monitor arm.
I am very happy with my setup!

I was facing similar dilemma but I went from 34” to the 38”. That little extra changed everything and I can still work with ultra wide which I prefer.

I was using a 24inch monitor for YEARS - it was a color calibrated 10bit monitor, it was nice for the work I was doing. But when I finally up upgraded to 32inch 4k - oh man! never going back to small screens as the main. Looking forward to see what is coming in the next year to get a dual 32 inch set up. Great vid as always Aivars!

I just switched from a 27” 4K to 49” super ultrawide 😂 Good thing I’m not streaming yet, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

I hit the like button before even watching. Keep up the great work Aivars!

As a web developer. I had the same issue switching many times between ultra-wide 34", ultra-wide 29" and several 24" and 27". I opted for LG32" 4k now and a secondary 27". I use secondary screen for preview of the webapp I am working on.

I switched to a 32" 4K a few months ago and really it was the best decision ever, as for programming goes it's just a perfect setup! 🤘🏻💯

03:21 About that the M1 is horrible for streaming and programming, I'm so glad that I realised (just in time) that you added "at the same time". I was about to ask "Why horrible for programming when you're still using one?".
BTW, why not look into **almost** 5K monitors:
(Available) Dell U4021QW curved 40" panel with WUHD 5120 x 2160 resolution, and with 1 x Thunderbolt 3 port.
(Available) Lenovo P40W curved 40" panel with WUHD 5120 x 2160 resolution, and with 2 x Thunderbolt 4 ports.
(Announced) LG 40WP95C curved 40" panel with WUHD 5120 x 2160 resolution, and with (at least) 1 x Thunderbolt 4.

This is helping me understand what I need better. I have two 27” 2k monitors for 4 years now and ready to ditch the middle bezels for an ultra wide. But don’t want lower resolution. Will look into a 32in 4K and use one of the 27’s in portrait mode. The two 27’s is good but slightly annoying with window layout. Almost bought a third 27 but that’s overkill for the 30% more width that I feel that I need. This all in the context of a developer not a gamer. Just want my IDE to have shoulder room with console on the side. While the 2nd monitor is just confused window layout usually.

I'm so spoiled by the 5k screen in the iMac pro. No monitor I've seen or used comes close to it. I have an LG 4k next to it as a 2nd monitor and the difference in brightness and colors is staggering.

M1 only support 1 monitor?
from last 3 years I'm using more than 2.

I love your channel. Great short coding-related videos. Thanks for sharing! Best regards from Russia.
BTW I use multiple 4k monitors with my m1 mb air. I use Targus docking station with DisplayLink. So you can connect more displays if you wish.

I actually use 2 different resoloution screens 2k 144Hz for gaming and 4k 60Hz for coding. Seems to ber the sweet spot

Well this video came at the perfect time! I had a 34" ultrawide that had to be returned a little while ago and have been back to a 27" since. Have spent the entire time debating a 32" 4K or going for another 34" ultrawide 🤔

Which scaling in macOS do you have the 32" set to? Native to the display?

43 inch, @4k also very nice. That is 4x full HD screens even split directly in front of you. 49 inch is jus too much head or eye movement. For my second desk I 'm still thinking on 5k on 40 inches. All of this 16:9 of course.

Aren't you annoyed by the low pixel density (137), compared to Apple standard target of 220 ppi for all its displays ?

What do you think about 43 inch for programming. I always thought that an optimal setup would be 32 inch centered plus 27 inch vertical to its side. The 43” gives you (almost) that in a single monitor, and it is 4K.

When needed you also almost get two 32 monitors stacked one on top of the other, which I think I might like for referencing multiple parts of code. And when you need to focus you don’t have to use the entire real estate.

Have you tried it? I think that I will

Should I go for 4k 32", 34" ultra wide or 38" ultra wide. I am trying to go for a single monitor setup to make it look clean. I currently have a 32" 1080 but wont be using it in my future setup.

Hey pal, have you tried a 27-inch monitor in landscape and a 24 in portrait, both at 4k?
Also, aside from what you have said in the video, why do you prefer a 32 inch over a 27-inch monitor as your main monitor?
Thanks in advance! Have a good one!
