Friend: Hey what’s the time?
Me: Wait. *gets up and takes a walk to the side of the screen to check time*

$1500 sounds like a good deal now that I have seen a $999 monitor stand

As a programmer, I think this could do wonders for productivity.

Bruh I physically couldn't use this thing. I'd only be able to see half the damn monitor since I have one eye lol

From 4:3 to 16:9, then wider, wider, wider...and then stick 2 ultrawide monitors on top of each other.
Yeah, lol :)

Looks amazing and I'd love to edit in premiere in it. That being said, can't wait for it to come down in price either this model or the tech becomes cheaper. The stackable option looks like something I'd do, if had the money though.

1 tip to increase your vertical space is move taskbar/dock to the side, though it takes a while to get use to...

I have been using 34” LG ultra wides since they came out; love it, this could be the next upgrade :)

Got it about three weeks ago. It's a truly satisfying purchase. Best monitor I ever had.

I agree with you that I’d rather have it a bit taller. I’m still using my 10 year old 2560x1600 30” dell monitor and appreciate how tall it is. As a coder I like to see more on the page top to bottom and width doesn’t matter usually. I split it two ways. Not sure I’d get this aspect ratio - would have to try and see.

It looks like a wonderful monitor. I really hope I can manage an ultrawide of some sort with my next PC upgrade, but probably not this one given the price. Even for the gaming I do, I'd probably opt to set up a window and have things like Discord, a bowser, etc to either side. There's also the option of one central monitor and one to either side that wouldn't have to be as high res and therefor likely much cheaper. As long as the bezel split isn't in the middle of my main work area, either option would be doable.

I'm so happy you did this review. I tried to find it everywhere for the UK but it's not available unless you get it on the US store.

Speaking of the store NOTHING is listed for tech specs.

The thing driving me to this originally was the resolution over the Samsung but it basically gets crushed or goes close to or even in other departments.

The resolution is a nice thing but when you lose so much refresh rate, the true 10 bit colour along with Samsung's more accurate colours and not to mention it has access to freesync2 at 120 hz as well you start to think is it worth the much higher price.

This also doesn't take into account the risk of light bleeding from the ips panel over Samsung's VA which is very close if not better for input lag contrast and viewing angles (Lol like viewing angles matter)

All in all the LG only has the resolution going for it but it is an absolutely gorgeous design too.

I'm going to stick with my Samsung 49" until the next generation of ports become more standard like type c thunderbolt and DP 2.

They could also have done to not put speakers in. Anyone buying this monitor will not be using the inbuilt no matter how good they because even fairly low budget sound systems will crush the built in audio which they will likely do because if you have £1500 to burn on the monitor your definitely getting at least a £50 speaker set.

Thanks again for the review your channel has taught me a lot.

What a beautiful monitor, if only I could afford such a thing! Damn... so awesome

The 2 monitors stacked up from one another is really what I am looking for. This would be great as I always need more screen space when I edit.

Great video mate, quality! Gen 1 I guess and so far so good. @ only 60Hz though it loses a few points but 5120 x 1440p...
