i bet so many more people beside me felt so suicidal during the aftermath of graduation. Especially since my parent never really helped me develop my strengths and interest. Especially since i already had the mindset that i wouldnt reach this age

not only that, high school doesn't even set you up for the real world. if you ask people who just graduated with me I 100% will tell you that 3 out of 4 people don't know how taxes work, or how to even get a loan. its so sad that they are so worried about you knowing ur history and science and stuff lol

Instead of telling and forcing children to choose the pre-decided paths, we should focus their problem-solving capabilities, we shoud teach them how to stand-up when they fall and teach them to keep trying and keep experiencing until they are successfull. We should teach them to create and innovate their roads and get inspired from those who did it with great success as well as with great failures.

You should carry this message around to more schools and universities. It's ok to make mistakes when choosing your career path and more people need to know this! The belief that you should find one thing and stick with it forever needs to go in that spam folder!

As a 17-year old questioning my life, I'm really glad I watched the video. Thank you so much for the valuable lessons🥺

Even though you became an author you still indirectly became a teacher at the same time because you are teaching a valuable lesson right in this video :)

That part "No matter what age, we are all finding our path" brought me to tears. I am 30 years old and I have finally gotten my GED after so many attempts back when I was still being young and wild. It took me 3 months to finish. I am now trying to see what it is I am good at and what I want to do. I have thought of accounting but I mostly love working with housing so thought of finishing carpentry. It's been a task but I know the Lord will guide me to what He has for me.

As somebody in Generation Z, I concur. I just finished university and my biggest priority right now in life is my career and my trajectory in life.

the thing is, i fear that i won't have the resources (money) to do what i like to do when what i am currently choosing isnt the right decision.

What if we seriously got together to try to reform the education system to better prepare kids so they won’t have to be in the same boat as I am now

I knew since I was about 8 what I wanted to do after receiving my first atlas. And I stuck to it and loved doing it for 50 years.

I like when you spoke about "monitoring your interests", as we tend to become overly preoccupied with our main passions that our other interests rarely get the attention they deserve

This video help me feel better and is relatable because these past few months I’ve been stressing about what I want to do for the rest of life and I would ponder on wether this career path would bring me joy and happiness and I sometimes feel obligated to stay in one path because I chose that for the rest of my life but I’ll work on changing my mindset when it comes to that it won’t happen overnight but it will happen
Thank you so much for sharing this message

After high school, I bought somethings that was going to be a career, it wasn’t something I always wanted to do or even a dream. While I was in quarantine I finally found something I was passionate and willing to create, but I had to go to the expensive career that I wasted in and today I failed and I’m about to have an argument with two people who I love about my failure.

This video was helpful and honestly I which I took a job after I left high school and during it I would write and create movies that I was passionate to make.

My big mistake was family telling me to commit to a degree plan and immediately start taking hard classes. Your first college classes should be in your strongest academic area. Start with gen ed stuff until you know what your major will likely be.

I am currently trying to plan out my senior year courses. This video helped me better understand what to do after senior year and to relax a bit ;)

Thank you for a wonderful talk! I'm a late Baby Boomer, with a Gen Z son who is overwhelmed by what his life is to be. I showed him this video. We were talking about how many options are open now than when I was in high school. I said, "I wonder if YouTube has any videos on choosing careers", and first thing, this popped up! It was perfect!

I can resonate with this. I went through many different phases after and during my time at school. It's true that we can put too much emphasis on one thing so it's good to open ourselves up to other options occasionally :)

This is really inspiring.. thank you I really appreciate it, I have been trying to research a few things and I must say that this is the best advice that I have gotten, and it will be the best advice that any other person that is in school or that is not sure about their next move could get.
