19 century so many spectacular artists that’s captured realism, history, emotion color you name it . They used history and the new to excellent like no one ever before. So many names that would be overwhelming but shiskan, scorolla, Sargent, Zorn, so many artists it’s astounding singer gets all the credit. Still love vellaqeze, and carisuro, Rembrandt, these guys had nothing yet changed the world. Hard question!

While I love the old masters, the 18th century was kind of a golden age for portraiture. The royal portrait gallery in London is a real treat.

There are many criterias that I judge on who's my favourite Painter. Andreas Møller just got that young Maria Theresia painting that I find the epitome of beauty, Leonardo that got that epitome science of painting, Caravaggio that got that rich, dramatic and impactful sceneries, both Monet and Manet with how I relate to them with the uprising modernity, man there's so much. But without a doubt, my favourite era of painting was the early and late Baroque. Followed by the High Renaissance

Dude you have inspired me to try oil painting.I am scared of the mediums and the fat over lean rule.. I'm a bit scared I am going to make a gooey painting that won't dry. Maxfield Parrish - I love his layers and layers of glazing and his brilliant use of color.

Favourite Artists:
For the Baroque era I find it impossible to choose between Rembrandt and Velazquez. I love their work equally, closely followed by Vermeer, Anthony van Dyck and Caravaggio.
For many of the periods that followed I admire many of of the artists, but I don’t necessarily love their work. Goya is interesting. Recently I have found myself more drawn towards Constable than Turner. Perhaps it is his honesty.
Impressionism is the era when I find my love of painting returning. Monet of course, and Manet who wasn’t quite an impressionist.
Of the Post-Impressionists Cezanne in a way that I can’t really explain seems to speak to me.
I love Modernism, but because of it’s nature and trajectory I”m not sure we can ever return there. I love the work of many of the Modernists, but for me Picasso is the giant of the first part of the twentieth century.
Post-Modernism, which for me begins with Warhol doesn’t interest me in any way. The exception to this is Gerhard Richter whose work in all its styles, just like Cezanne seems to speak to me.

Beautiful..breaking down the painting into smaller less risky steps, the toning, the study and then the layers drawing stage, underpainting, dead colour, 1st and second painting....i like that "chi·a·ro·scu·ro" approach as Caravaggio is one my favourite artists....

I tone my canvas with my hands. This way you get the greatest textures ever. I guess the old masters did a lot with there hands too
