Did you catch this reference in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings? When Trevor Slattery, played by Ben Kingsley , and his group arrive in Ta Lo for the first time, the car suddenly brakes as a horse-like creature walks in front of it. Trevor then says “What’s it looking at me for?”. This is a reference to Don Logan from Sexy Beast, also played by Ben Kingsley, who says this exact line when a goat walks in front of his car.

It’s called a qilin/kirin/giri (in China, Japan, and Korea respectively). It’s said to be one of the only creatures that can kill a dragon.

Also, that creature is a Qilin, a worshipped creature that resembles a horse with a hide of scales. In Chinese mythology, the Qilin is a rare sight, only appearing to those who are destined to become great leaders. If the MCU is adhering to this, then that means Trevor may prove to grow into a strong leader one day.
