DID YOU KNOW IN TITANIC (1997)

TITANIC (1997)
James Cameron's "Titanic" is an epic, action-packed romance set against the ill-fated maiden voyage of the R.M.S. Titanic; the pride and joy of the White Star Line and, at the time, the largest moving object ever built. She was the most luxurious liner of her era -- the "ship of dreams" -- which ultimately carried over 1,500 people to their death in the ice cold waters of the North Atlantic in the early hours of April 15, 1912

FUN FACT
The post-sinking scenes were shot in a 350,000 gallon (1,300,000 L) tank where the frozen corpses were created by applying a powder on the actors that then crystallized when exposed to water. Wax was applied to hair and clothes to create a wet look.

There was a first class woman who had a large dog, she was told that she had to leave her dog behind so she refused to get on the boat. She was later found dead in the ocean hugging her dog. Both died of hypothermia.
Weirdly this got to me the most.

This scene creeped me out so much I saw it in my head for days. Was a realistic effect indeed.

I think the film comes very close to the real tragedy.
One should have respect for the victims: Reading some of the comments here makes me sick.
Many in today's world know neither respect nor morality nor decency, sadly enough.
The real victims who went down with the Titanic, whether rich or poor, were ultimately all the same that night, everyone was sitting in one ship.
Rest in peace all victims of this dark and freezing night ⚓️🏴‍☠️🕯

My dad's friend actually did the makeup on set! She's been Leonardo DiCaprio's makeup artist ever since. Her name's Sian Grigg. She's really talented!

Movies back then were created with the limitations of the times. Nowadays, few directors care to go to such lengths as they just throw cheap Cgi on everything. Titanic from 1997 remains a masterpiece to this day

This was the scene that haunted me for YEARS. And likely re-enforced my fear of corpses for a long while.

When elderly Rose said that only one boat came to rescue the people in the water & that only 6 of them were saved, that hit hard. The mama & baby had me bawling first time I watched, as it’s clear that so many little ones perished with the sinking of the Titanic, especially the lower class (whilst men from 1st class got seats on the lifeboat that should’ve went to those children … selfish buggers). 😭

⚠️NOT SO FUN FACTS: That's the state that some of the bodies were in. As described by those who went back to retrieve the perished🤷🏻‍♀️. The most traumatic, being the retrieval of the bodies of children/babies/toddlers 😰. A lot of the dead that were retrieved, ended up being dumped BACK into the ocean. When the bodies reached a point of decomposition, that threatened the safety & health of the crew members on board.

The thing is, that the retrieval vessels, were there for days at a time. They didn't have enough means to slow down the decomposition of the bodies, that had already been retrieved from the water. 😓
I believe that pictures & identifying objects, were taken from the victims. Prior to being returned to their watery graves, but I'm not too sure.

There also used mannequins and
Not ALL of the people you see in the water were real people. I’ve been a huge fan since I was a kid and actually seen an interview that was done with some of those people and extras.
If you haven’t seen the titanic exhibition in Vegas you totally
Should it’s amazing.
