The Apollo 11 launch scene was one of my favorite scenes in any movie for years. Music, the explosive sounds, the cinematography...just perfect.

That launch - with this music - on IMAX - was utter cinema perfection. Heart stoppingly beautiful. On the 50th anniversary, this should clean up at the Oscars.

Absolutely shocked that this didn't even get a nomination for best soundtrack at the Academy Awards.

Going to be completely honest. This was my favorite movie of 2018, by a mile. And I might have had a tear in my eye when Apollo 11 launched.

I knew they would survive but the scene made me cling to my seat hoping nothing went wrong

Remarkable composition by Justin Hurwitz.  A melancholic, and yet triumphant composition, with a special touch of typical 1960's sci-fi sound of electric synthesizer.

The really drawn out strings starting from 4:14 give really well the impression of something immensely powerful, trying to break free from something even more powerful... Hurwitz is excellent at representing actual physical sensations.. Amazing.

I knew it was coming, and I knew exactly what to expect. But the launch scene still had me on the edge of my seat. What a magnificent film.
Great film inspires, and First Man was great.

Something I won't forget. 1:25 - 1:50. The hatch is closed. Seconds to launch. Neil stares at the Moon inside the Command Module. And you can see his drive, the obsession in his eyes... The fuel inside a man.

As a pilot flying at 41000 ft in the troposphere. These men were not the best...they where the best of the best and paved way for advances in aerospace technology we take for granted today. Humans will never stop exploring and today is an exciting time as we look up and prepare for mars and beyond! Between the radioshatter I will listen to this song when I fly over the alps today and look out at this beautiful planet!

Please see First Man in a theater to appreciate the impact of the Launch sequence. It’s an exciting mix of music and visuals that perfectly transitions the film from a very personal viewpoint to the absolutely epic. Stunning.

This movie was beyond a masterpiece. It was emotional, exciting, and outright entertaining. This film was beautifully made, and it really showed me the tragedies that Armstrong had to go through. The landing scene almost had me crying. What a shame that it didn't do well in the box office, such an amazing film.

I was REALLY lucky that the power cut off right after the launch, so I got to see the launch TWICE in IMAX!
I cried the first time, the second time I was euphoric.

This is probably the best song from the soundtrack. Coupled with the visuals of the Saturn V it is truly moving.

The music is great but it's the director that deserves the highest praise. I hope he gets a nomination at the academy this year.

After 40-45 years after his birth, it all comes down to this. This is the moment where all his training, hopes, and prayers will become reality... this was it, he was going to guide humanity to another world.

It's still amazing that 50 years on, what Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins did is still inspiring us. They weren't just Americans, they were ambassadors for all of mankind. Mankind taking its first steps into an entirely new frontier. I wish we didn't give up after Apollo 17. I wish they kept going. Cause who knows where we'd be by now had they kept going? Either way. First Man was a fantastic movie. Favourite movie of 2018.

This is truly an engaging and mesmerizing sound. It's a beautiful theme full of hope, nostalgia, and motivation...
I can feel the tension of taking off in the shuttle...
I still haven't seen the film yet but it seems Hurwitz has done it again...
Bravo 👌
