I was at the launch. Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to just to score some cold war points if it was fake. Imagine watching a 36 story skyscraper take off on a pillar of flame and thunder and fly up until it is out of sight. It was very, very real. If they can get such a thing off the ground, they can damn sure get it a small portion of it to the moon. Skepticism itself is the basis of science, but skepticism based on the inability to understand how all this worked is just emotional noise. It was a great moment for humanity and I am so honored that I got to experience it. I long for such wonders to exist again.

I was fifteen when they landed on the moon. We had a black-and-white TV. Just the very idea that what I was seeing at that time was actually happening made the black and white images breathtaking. Launch to landing on the moon to their return to earth. I was very disappointed when the last two lunar landings were cancelled. If this documentary film had been put together like this and distributed I'm pretty sure that Congress would have found the money somewhere to continue the program.

Watched this last night...outstanding piece of cinema. I've watched countless videos of these launches, but the footage and sound of the Saturn V rocket in this film took my breath away. If only I could have seen one launch in real life. And they added no drama or extra explanation for anything, just let it play out as it did back then. Well worth the watch.

To get into that rocket, knowing it might be your last time being on Earth...that is simply astonishing bravery

Amazing footage, this thing is so clear, at first I thought it was a newly remake of the documentary, but it's the original.

Film quality looks so beautiful, there was no compromise back then

Watched it today in IMAX at a prepremiere and oh my god was it good. It's by far one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

1969. When Americans came together and dreamt of reaching the Stars. Hopefully they can get back to that status 50 years later

This is what we humans are capable of.

I love the movie but one thing is hard to explain. When the go off the elevator before getting into rocket they had yellow soled boots on but when Neil was about to step onto the moon he had blue soled boots on. Pretty sure no other space suites on board so can someone explain this to me.

I just watched this doc yesterday. I was born in 1994. The first 35 or so minutes of this doc is the closest thing you will ever come to being there at the actual event for the launch. The film quality makes it seem like it used today’s cameras... just amazing.

This is fantastic true 70mm colour footage much of it never seen before. Definitely gonna see this movie, and buy a copy to watch at leisure. The clarity is brilliant. !

imagine thinking the moon landing was fake. Like I get it, being skeptical is a good thing but when the evidence is right in your face its pretty embarrassing to say its fake.

I can't believe it has been 50 years, a great time to be alive to see it happen.

Just watched this last night and it took my breath away. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I teared up several times as well

I got teary-eyed during JFK's speech near the end of the documentary.
