911 call, bodycam footage of deadly Phoenix Police shooting on Feb. 7

The Phoenix Police Department on Feb. 22 released the 911 call and bodycam footage of a police shooting from Feb. 7. The video we are posting shows the moments leading up to the man being shot, and doesn't show him being shot, or the aftermath. Phoenix Police have released the entire video, with the blurring of the man after he was shot.

Police officers are sworn to protect and serve. That also applies for the police officers. Criminals, people who know they are in trouble, people of interest who resist start assaulting the police officer and so on. As far as I am concerned? Any trouble a police officer is facing? Has that right to kill. Follow the police officers instructions and do not resist and get violent and you won’t get killed. Just that simple. We need more police officers on the streets period. CWA

Many people will hear "20 feet away" and question why the officer shot at that moment. Truth is, that 20 feet takes about a 1-2 seconds to cover and start stabbing. "20 feet away" with a knife might as well be nose to nose.
