India Overtakes China, Becomes Most Populous Nation: UNFPA Report Population Data

India has overtaken China as the most populous nation in the world, according to a report by the United Nations Population Fund. The report says 68 per cent of India's population is in the 15-64 age group. The demographic data from the United Nations Population Fund’s or the UNFPA's “State of World Population Report, 2023” estimates India’s population at 1,428.6 million or 1.4286 billion against 1.4257 billion for China.
The United States is a distant third, with an estimated population of 340 million, the data showed. The data reflects information available as of February 2023, the report said.

This is disastrous. Two/one child policy should have passed as law in 1970s. Not enough resources to support 1.7 billion by 2050. With development further rise in Pollution, Land and water shortage and all sort of lifestyle problems will come with it.. By the time 2 extra rotis r managed 4 extra mouths add up to feed.. That's the situation!
