SE3 just released, so that device must have warranty. She could’ve just went to apple and replaced the phone.

You can pull of the back metal on an iPhone 7/7+8/8+/SE2/SE3 and take the home button cable out and put it in another phone. Only problem is it will probably destroy the screen but it's good if you have a heap of dead screens sitting and good screens with broken home button cables

You did not have to sell her a new screen, a new cable behind the metal shield would have fixed the problem. You can easily use these cables from an old broken lcd.

Home buttons are a nightmare. The amount of bad replacement screens is ridiculous making it worse. I’ve seen me try 3 replacement screens before the button would work again.

She could’ve just took it to apple. It’s a se3 it came out few months ago, it most likely had warranty and it messed up by itslef so apple could’ve replaced the phone

Just imagine trying to explain to a Karen WHY she needs to replace the screen for a button lmao.

Wow, this vid really helped me understand what was going on!

I have an iPhone 7 with a faulty home button and my repair shop managed to replace the button. It worked for 2 weeks, but then it randomly broke down again. I’m so happy that I now know how this works. Hopefully I will get to the repair shop and explain the situation. Top G my man

Same thing happened to an iphone 7 when I replaced the screen, the new cable on the screen was bad causing the home button to stop working. Harvested the cable from the old screen and it worked. Eventually replaced the screen again with a properly working one.

I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch, it’s well used and the Home button is perfect. Apple started using inferior equipment as on later models of the touch’s and phones etc the home button typically failed.

Bro literally I opened YouTube to to just see if replacing the home button is easy because my iPhone 6s Plus home button is not working it is just like you said it randomly stopped working. And from my recommendation of YouTube shorts I got this video. I typed this on the same iPhone that is broken.

Although because the SE3 is a fairly new phone I haven’t been out that even a year she can always get a screen replacement through Apple through the warranty program, I work for an Apple authorized service partner and that’s what we would recommend. And I personally can look the other way for the backglass.
