My phone was really broken and the home button wouldn't work no matter what I tried, it wasn't lagging, not stuck, it was just not working! But you were the first person to suggest Assistive Touch! It helps so much, thank you :)

For anyone who just wants to have the assistive touch work as a home button, you can remove all other buttons so that when you press the on screen button it will work just like a home button, no menu

Thank you so much. The rubbing alcohol method worked, am so pleased to have my phone back and working again. Rubbing alcohol is known as methylated spirits in Australia except that methylated spirits is a bit stronger so best to dilute it to be on the safe side.

I work the fields sometimes in the desert my home button stoped working, I started using touch assistant util I seen this Video Cleaning The button with rubbing Alcohol, really those work. I really appreciate it, man thank you

I dropped my phone about a foot from the floor (after many other falls) and the home button stopped working. I knew it was the fall, not grime, but when he started pounding his phone I thought what have I got to lose? When nothing else works, just smack the crap out of your iPhone. Problem solved.

Thank you! I dropped my phone today and the home button stopped working. I was just about to replace it when I thought I'd see if there were other options. I had some electronics alcohol and had to do it twice but it worked! So happy. Just can't afford a new phone. This saved me.

I dropped mine in water and the only thing that's not working is my home button. Do you think these methods will work for water damage?
