For those who are suffering through domestic violence (physical, emotional, mental, financial, immigration, etc), the “smile and walk away” doesn’t apply to you. Someone hits you once, will most likely hit you again. Find a trusted person to confide in, find an organization that can help you, and report it to law enforcement of possible. Abuse is never okay.

I was abused until the abuser left my family in November. I would get strangled, my hair pulled, punched, and it was so bad to the point were I was feeling depressed and thinking about self harm and suicide, and I'm only 15. I feel more relieved now that they aren't with us.

It's hard to ignore someone who can walk into my room whenever he wants to and do whatever he wants to to me. In the video you're talking about how to deal with strangers or people outside but what about the family members and people who live in one's house? How to ignore them? How to protect oneself?

How about jealous family members who say things to upset you but not directly to you how to stop being very hurt by them.
I stay away and do dua for them but it is hurtful as I'm not like them. May Allah swt guide us always ameen
