my theory about the black cat is that he’s just imortal, think about it he’s a black cat, and he knows everything. i think that he might have been killed in the first other mothers creation and just became immortal and kind of sent to help the children and that’s why the beldom hates him so much

The Black Cat is no friend of the Beldam/Other Mother cause He's the one who guided and helped Coraline about the Other World. As a Matter of Fact, The Beldam/Other Mother hated him. Maybe because the black cat tried to help the Past Children to escape the Beldam/Other Mother but failed. Just my Theory.

According to some theories the black cat is actually older than the beldam, and is an entity of that world, and the beldam is trying to stop coraline from defeating her because if she does the black cat will recreate the whole world and male coraline the next beldam which is why there is no coraline 2.

Yea the cat is my first theory is why does he only appear where there is fog and then when he is on the roof as soon as wybie says it was his grandma twin he looks at the doll as if he knew what happen and why would he only appear if there were rats or talking to coral if about danger he one Big clue was he said he has been here or a long time or he has came here before so he has been here he never said I been here trying to escape when I was younger but then I escaped let me help you but he just let the stuff happen and as soon he was at coralline window he looked at because he mess up on one of his creation and he tried to stop coralline of hiding the key so he was the only one who knew what coralline said so he must of have to control the hand of the beldam to get the key so he could have the world open till he’s next vitcim
