Sooo I've seen a few comments asking how Coraline would remember the Beldam and the answer is, that it is because of her age, as adult's have less imagination than kids and therefore don't want to believe in the beldam. This is common with the fairfolk, the children usually remember, but the parent's do not. Hope that made sense! xox

Love your theory but I also have a theory

At the end of the film the cat walks through the sign but doesn't come out the other end. This means she actually never goes home it was just another one of the beldam's tricks to keep coralline even longer.

Annalise also mentioned animals dying, and after going to see the two older women, one of them mentioned one of their dogs not feeling well, and even nearly dying! 🤔

I don't think you quite got the Coraline's parents were never captured at all theory.
It's actually apart of a bigger theory that makes a lot of sense, that the Beldam captured Coraline the first time and never let her leave the other world but made her believe that she was in fact in the normal world because everyone had normal eyes -- when in reality she was still in the other world. The reason she plays this game of cat and mouse is because she feeds off of love as the theory states.
Evidence for this is as follows
1. The fact that Coraline did not have to go back through the door and was "teleported" back to the real world just through falling asleep
2. The fact that Coraline was not automatically teleported back to the real world when she fell asleep after the button eyes question, this of course means that the Beldam controls when she goes back.
3. The fact that the Beldam's hand could even survive in the real world despite her having to lure children into the other world. If she can exist in the real world why would she need to lure children into her web in the first place.
4. The button eyes are only a tool she utilizes to lull Coraline into a false sense of security. When Coraline comes back to find her parents she sees an exact version of her mother who has normal human eyes. Which means the Beldam can create normal human eyes, which means the buttons are unnecessary. Their only function is to make Coraline believe she's in the real world.
And there are a whole ton of other pieces of evidence but I couldn't really write them all here.
If you're really interested, I'd suggest checking out The Fangirl's theories, she does a great job of running down her ideas.
Thank you for this video though, it was very well put together!

So is coralline really stuck in the other world? Or is that just a guess because man that is a dark story

I have one question why does the other father help coralline? And the other wyborn? Wouldn’t they be fair-folk as well?

DISCLAIMER: I am totally not against this theory, just wanted to share my thoughts.

I politely disagree that Coraline's father actually answered so quickly because they DO remember. Often times in that situation a person would reply quickly to avoid the person thinking they were hesitant because they weren't telling the truth. So her father replied quickly to imply and make Coraline believe that he had not remembered.

Anyone notice that Coraline has blue hair and is opposite of both parents, and the golems other wybee and other father disobey the belldam? My theory is that Coraline is adopted and towards the end the Belldam already ate Coralines parents... She has blue hair and was able to defeat the belldam because she is a Fae child, out of grief she created her own reality where her parents are still alive and everything was perfect the way she wanted her life. Would explain why the cat at the end went through the sign.

Not saying this is wrong, cause its a really good, but I do have one question. How come Coraline can remember the Beldam?

I watched coraline when I was young and I only got to the 'I will give you to the count of 3' scene. It scared me so much that I haven't watched it since XD

I've got a theory: Coraline is actually experiencing narcissistic abuse. I think the parents like kinda separated, and the father got like a girlfriend and she ends up narcissistic. With Coraline's emotions and active imagination, She imagined it all.

I'd like to see a Hocus Pocus theory, if you can. :)

yes!you used the actual folklore that inspired the novel!
also the name that is usually used to describe the land of the fair folk is the "Otherworld"
good theory!

I do agree with you :) ur awesome! but I also have a theory hehe

I think... uhm... they do not remember because them being captured wasn't true, it was just an illusion made by the beldam to make Coraline come back to the other world or stay to be able to "save her parents", what i mean is that, the beldam made an illusion of her parents trap and asking for help so that Coraline will come back to the other world to save them, because if they're the real parents then they wouldn't ask help to their child to prevent them from harm, and I think there are parallel world that is also made by the beldam which shows up when the door shifts, that explains why the door/portal looks creepier when wybee(i forgot the spelling) helped her "escape", and also i think the other world wybee is not really helping Coraline instead he just guided her to another trap. Hehe and i think the cat is also someone dark, maybe he's the beldam's real son. Plus, I also think that the triangle with a whole thingy that helped Coraline find the children ghost's eyes are one of wybee's grandmother's equipment, because i think she tried to find and rescue her twin sister but failed, i also think that she got the Coraline doll in the other world while trying to rescue her sister cuz she wouldn't have forbid people living at the pink palace or forbid wybee to enter there if she doesn't knew about the door or the other world itself.

You're absolutely right. There's also a fairy ring, or a ring of mushrooms surrounding the hole/well, which is used to contain fairies.
