This episode comes from a question posted by one of the Doc On The Run YouTube viewers as a comment on the video “Where to run with plantar fasciitis.”

In the video, I was trying to explain which surfaces can help you the most when you’re trying to run with plantar fasciitis. The only way to do that is to make sure you are decreasing the stress and strain on the plantar fascia ligament.

But the question was…

Is the plantar fascia really a ligament?

Well, that’s what we’re talking about today on the Doc On The Run Podcast.

Hey Doc I have a question Ive been watching your youtube channel and its very informative and I was wondering I was diagnosed with a stress reaction in my 4th and 5th metatarsal after my doctor ordered an mri for it. The only reason I decided to visit the doctor is because it gave me mild discomfort and mild swelling. The doctor told me to take a whole month off. I decided to take 2 weeks off and run based off feel after that and slowly build back up. Right now the swelling has gone down but i still get some discomfort.the most pain ive felt after returning to run is 3-10. Therefore I wanted to get your thoughts on my situation. thank you
