Popular Bible teacher and YouTube Mike Winger has stated that Egalitarians need to repent for teaching egalitarianism.

But is this correct..and just how correct is Mike Winger in his Women in Minstry series?

We explore this is my response to Mike Winger

THANK YOU FOR THIS RESPONSE; I’m frustrated with Mike’s poorly researched series and his fans thinking of him as THE actual representation of Bible teaching.

True scholars and people that actually know about profound biblical topics are mostly not YouTubers, they are university professors or doing ministry in person else where, so I haven’t seen many people speaking against his series; that’s why I’m glad you did this !

👏👏👏

Yes! I couldn’t believe how poorly he misquoted and/or incorrectly summarized and/or misunderstood various scholars and their arguments. I had to return to sources several times thinking “that’s not what they said.” Sure enough, it wasn’t. He erred way, way too many times to get a pass. Whether it was sloppiness or intentional, there is no excuse given his platform.

Thank you so much for your series and for raising awareness of Winger’s poor scholarship.

I tuned in on this channel by happy ‘accident’ as it was in my feed. I watched this all the way through without pause. Count me another subscriber, my brother! I so appreciate your response and thank you. My prayers of love in Christ and support to you and your wife. May the Lord bless your family, ministry, and church family.
Jesus is Lord!

As someone undecided on this topic I think this was a very fair critique. I wish Mike would engage with the critiques (especially those by Terran Williams).

Thank you for sharing these truths. Women have had very little voice/say in written history. Whose point of view do we think dominates? Throughout time, women have tried to express the depth of our sorrow concerning our oppression. This historical oppression has been literally killing us physically (Coverture, IPV/GBV, domestic violence, femicide) and spiritually. No part of His Body is greater than the other and those viewed as the least should be given honor (1 Cor 12). Women are not God’s step-children, nor our gifts void because of how God made us. These last days, God is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

Just finished watching. Kudos on your indepth study of this most important subject. I watched some of Mike Winger's videos in his series on this subject. A large part of my adult life I've attended Assembly of God or Charismatic churches. Tired of seeing the complete nonsense entering the Charismatic churches, my husband and I started attending an independent Baptist Church that was very open to the move of God. My husband's father was also a Pentecostal minister. The longer we attended the Baptist church the more we sided with the complimentary view. After 4 years in a Baptist church I feel like I am insulting the Holy Spirit. Recently we have been visiting a non-denominational church that we will most likely move to. My husband watched the video and I believe he is coming to his senses. Thank you!😊

It sounds like Mike has had Greek male grammar conventions explained to him multiple times. In his most recent video, another commenter and I offered thorough explanations to him, and he did respond with a question, so we know he saw it. Although, his question made it seem that he had not carefully read what we had explained.

Thank you for making this response! I followed Mike Winger for a long time for his apologetics content, but his handling of this topic opened my eyes to some of his poor research habits. I lost a lot of respect for his content. I believe he has good intentions, but intentions are not enough.

Thank you, bro. Mike for this important exposure and clarification. This is an important topic setting sisters free to pursue Holy Spirit's giftings. God bless.

Great discussion about the primo-genitor issue. Super helpful. (I didn’t know you have a channel! Glad to find it!)

Your first point is so good.
1. The father decided who would get the title of "firstborn". It was not automatically granted because of birth. Sometimes the younger inherits the double portion and title of firstborn. Adam and Eve are not brother and sister, they are husband and wife. They are not born they were created. The complementarian argument for progeniture (meaning Adam created first=more authority than Eve) falls flat once you understand the specifics of how progeniture actually worked, details they have claimed "are unimportant."

I have to stop watching for a bit but I will be back to finish the rest!!

Just subbed! Thank you so much for your video. I've been following this whole "women in ministry" saga from Mike from the get-go. I also share in your disappointment and frustrations.

Reflecting on Mike's series and how many hierarchalists have championed his videos, I've found myself internally processing a couple of thoughts w/ the Lord:

1. 21st century online teachers (and my own self when I post anything) must heed James 3:1 to a magnified degree. Online teachers have an influence and audience far beyond James' initial understanding. What does that say about the "greater judgment" we must heed when seeking to educate others?

2. When we call a group of Christians who believe a secondary/tertiary doctrine to repent, claiming that they are doing "great harm to the church, " I think of Deut. 13:14. Before we wage war, we must "inquire thoroughly" and ask good questions, which requires open dialogue and discussion. That's what the wisdom of Deut. 13:14 invites.

Hi, I was wondering if you could add captions to your videos? The one-word-at-a-time ones that are autogenerated by YouTube is tough to follow along to for anything over a couple minutes long. They're also not always correct and too small to read if watching on a computer screen. I would like to be able to watch your video. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I started watching Mike’s series and it frustrated me so much…I have not spent hours studying but the few books I had read he misquoted.

The most concerning thing to me is his refusal to be sharpened by those who disagree as well as his unwillingness to be taught by leaders from other countries especially the persecuted church.

Preach it, brother! Do not feel bad for getting heated. I cannot even listen to Winger because of his disrespect of egalitarians. You are just voicing how I and many others feel. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—THANK YOU. Thank you for all your precious research and work to support women. It is so appreciated.

Re: Mater familias. I think Proverbs 31 also points to continuity of thought toward women's ability to run their households.
