I recently purchased the Original Cabin twist. Super expensive but I had wanted a Rimowa cabin trolley for a long time, like the 10 years prior to the pandemic when I was flying 75k miles/year. Ironically I finally bought one now that I’m not traveling nearly as much. Oh well. Hope to travel more soon. I still enjoy looking at it and tapping on the aluminum while it sits in my closet 😅

I personally think the weight is the biggest drawback for me. I don't like having to play Yay or Nay with my clothes and shoes, because there is a weight limit for carry-on. They don't normally check on international airlines. But if you are unlucky, they'll throw it in check-in.

I've had mine Check-in version one for 7 years, I've had it repaired about 6 times now, the lock keeps poping open on it. Yes the lock keeps poping open on it... i've had things slide out and i've had the lock open on me while walking.. Rimowa said the classic flight lock is delicate and a sales rep even told me he sees it all the time and he would never personally get one himself... wtf?? Anyway i got sick of being on vacation and tying my suitcase closed. Maybe the small version is good, but i would never get the check in version again. Its been one of the worst purchases of my life.
