Of cause we got new rumors for the one thing that was certain: the launch date. Reveal is still set for August 29th/30th (depending on where in the world you live), but new rumors say the actual release has been delayed until September 27th (apparently to improve the BIOS). Lets see how this will play out. Just wanted to let you know!

Being able to keep the same cooler from the AM4 boards is awesome.

Judging from AMD's past SKUs, the performance of the 7700X and 7800X won't be far enough apart to actually make a difference to the consumer, but if the 7800X chiplet bins sip a bit less power, that can go a long way for their thermal envelope when adding V-cache on top. I think if AMD only releases the 7700X they purposefully keep the better 7800X bins for a 7800X3D launch later to crush what ever Intel has to offer in gaming.

My plan was deciding between the upgrade 5800x3D or zen4.
I chose zen4 as the cost for a new system wasn't much difference (70 euro give or take).
So, now I await zen4 release.
(can also sell off old system if I want)

So I'm thinking MSI X670E Ace, Ryzen 9 7950x, RTX 4080, 64GB DDR5 6000(if it can be found), not sure about m.2 but maybe at least a fire cuda 530 or a new pcie 5 equivalent, all setup in a Fractal Torrent and a 1200w power supply to run it all. How much do you think that's gonna cost me?

zen 4 reviews should start rolling in next week, maybe the following. AMD is shipping reviewers samples that are supposed to arrive this week. I'd have to hunt down the article talking about it.

Thaks for this When are the G series chips coming out? with the powerhouse navi APU? I know these have a mini-apu in it, but what about the real APUs?

If AMD needs more performance, they can always slap Zen4C into Ryzen. These are 16 core chiplets with reduced cache compared to the standard Zen4 with only 8 cores. AMD could offer an 8+16 configuration like the rumored 13900k, and they can also offer a 0+32 core configuration for sort of an entry level HEDT without the additional RAM channels or PCIe lanes.

The 32 core option would allow AMD to hold the desktop multicore performance crown, even if it means performing worse than Zen2 in gaming because of the reduced cache

The interconnect fabric is shrunk with major benefits too.

AMD is confident so they will increase prices, props 7900x for 699 USD or 749USD

My i5 6600k has been BSODing for months now, already had to downclock it, cant wait to replace it and jump half a decade in performance lol

My major problem is DDR5 prices and no B boards yet... i´m aiming at the 7600X but won´t go for any this year probably.

With all these coverages, I think, not only it will be market out in less than a second, it will remain unaffordable for ordinary people like me after more than a year.

Given that I just upgraded my B350/Ryzen5 2600 system to a Ryzen5 5600x now that ASUS has updated the BIOS to support that CPU in the past 4 months, probably not.

I don't game and I live on the tail end of tech instead of the bleeding edge.

I may look to pick up B550/X570 bargains from the early adopters :)

But with a 5600x and 64gb of RAM, I think my workstation is good for several years. Maybe until I retire.
