I remember opening cpu-z and seeing that there were 1331 pins on my Ryzen CPU. I was disappointed they didn't add 6 more pins.

AMD adding AVX-512 makes a lot of sense if Intel is removing it. It simultaneously makes AMD the only platform to use if your app needs it, and also keeps pushing more development of apps that benefit from it which hurts intel sales in the long run.

Not sure about the AVX512 instructions, I thought one other reason why Intel removed it was because applications that would usually need that set of instruction shift more and more work to the GPU instead (physics, simulations, AI computing). We'll see.

Ya know, I straightened cpu pins before without much or an issue on several occasions but I've only fckd up one mobo and didn't even try lol. For one, once you attemot straightening them you really can't tell if it's going to touch the cpu in the proper spot whereas the cpu will only go in if it is right. It also was easy to put something straight between the pins and line entire rows up each way in a grid in order to get the pin right but it's not so easy with mobo.

I'm just waiting to see if anyone does water blocks or air cooler blocks that will be machined down to fit over the cpu like a puzzle piece this giving it more surface area contact thus making it cool better.

current am4 5600x I got is 2 years old so time to buy zen4 and I pay the same as 2 years ago with the potential to sell current rig to recoup some cost so essentially cheaper for me than 2 years ago. I look forward zen4 x3D next year mainly for a slot in upgrade :)
