I Definitely would not say " don't need any UVB" I'd always recommend UVB for leos

I love leos so much!!! I currently own 2 and have a foster, but I’m planning on getting a 3rd on Sunday!!

I also do a little leopard gecko rescue out of my house, so I have helped 7 or 8 geckos find new forever homes, or heal up from any injuries!!

Love these guys so much though, I highly recommend them!!

I agree mine is 5 years old as of spring 2023 and Is a really good girl and is easy to take care of since I got her when I was 8

Most wild Leo's spot bask where they stick out a leg or their tail to get those uv rays. They most likely benifit from uvb. Even tho it's not required I personally would suggest it. Plus if you have a bioactive enclosure it helps the plants and creates better lighting

I put one caveat on forgoing the UVB. If you are going to do so, make sure you're dusting their food with vitamin D3. Nothing more heart breaking than seeing a leo suffering MBD
