Those are actually really good points you're making! And many people gloss over the questions you've highlighted at the beginning of the video. I've researched for months but nothing could have prepared me for my baby getting sick only a month after his arrival (birth defect that I wasn't aware of), thankfully I was ready and caught the issue early BECAUSE I went for a check up at the vet. Vet access is TOP PRIORITY. I already made my choice obviously (leos all the way!), but this is still a great vid even if you're partial to one or the other :p

I got my first leo January 4th 2021(with about a year and a half of research). I had a bearded dragon for 10 years. Sadly he passed from cancer 😢. Missing him I started to research Leopard Geckos and ended up getting a male from a breeder who said this gecko wanted nothing to do with females anymore so he wanted to re-home him. He was 8 years old when I got and in perfect health. He just turned 9 and I love him so much. He’s the calmest gecko ❣️❣️

My parents would move out before they let me get a reptile. My brother loves snakes and my mom asked me once what would be a good beginner snake for him. (I doubt I'd ever own a snake but I love em and binge all sorts of animal care videos because hey, knowledge is power.) I said a Corn snake would be one of the best options, and when I mentioned mice she shut the whole thing down. So I sadly must wait until I am off on my own (and preferably done uni lol) until I can have a reptile. I'd love to own both Cresties and Leos at some point, but of course the million dollar question is which to get first.
This video helped me decide on a Crested Gecko! I love the leafy forest look, for one, and I think the simpler diet would be best for me considering the most exotic pet I'v ever had was a Betta.
(P.S: Just did some googling, and there's a wonderful seeming exotic vet clinic not terribly far from me!)

The part about having not just one reptile is true. I was going to get just one Leopard Gecko but ended getting two when I did, totally worth it since they have such unique personalities and my cat loves them too. She just watches them walk around like mini dinosaurs when I let them out, she's good with small animals so I know she won't try to eat them or hurt them.

My first reptile was a leopard gecko I rescued and rehomed, and I'm glad I started out that way because I realized leos weren't really my thing - cresties were! Of course I adore leos still, but everybody has pets they click with and ones they don't.

This was awesome thank you :) I Got my first Gargoyle Gecko because i preferr a aerborial setup.
I watched a vid of Reptiliatus and fell in love with the red eyed crocodile skink and wanted one of those, but they are really shy
from there i saw his crested geckos and kinda wanted them but was put off from them not growing back their tail.
That is why i choose a Gargoyle Gecko! I weight it already and it is 11 grams, still really small but red striped and i love that :)
