I get that it’s no good for building muscle but what about for skin, hair, nails, etc.? That’s what 99% of people take it for. I literally never met anyone who takes collagen protein for muscle building

Too Late. I just received my 3-bag Collagen order. 🙃 But I will try it anyway and see if any noticeable changes. Anyway, I'm cautious of soy products.

I try to tell people that the collagen protein gets broken down just like any other protein in order to be absorbed and that it doesn't go directly to become collagen in the body and people don't believe it even though it's an actual fact.

*I have very dry and itchy skin, not glow and very death skin, my friend suggest me to take Collagen supplement and i take it, after two month my skin start glowing, hydrated and very soft..i am very happy till now...Collagen really works for me*

Thanks. Well explained I think. However, legumes other than soy were mentioned just briefly in passing, I recall peas once towards the end. Soy and hemp were repeated: although their amino acid profile is probably superior, still other legumes like chickpeas, mung beans, pinto beans, lentils are also excellent sources of protein. Moreover a lot of the soy is GMO. And non lentil plant foods too contribute their protein. I feel these other legumes should have been given due prominence, and non legume plant foods mentioned too.

Multiple errors. Collagen supplements do have something that soy protein doesn't: hydroxyproline & unique short peptides. The short peptides found within collagen are bioavailable & bioactive. They're a big reason why collagen works to promote skin health. There are 12 published systematic reviews demonstrating effectiveness. Soy protein may very well also promote skin health. But I doubt it has as much evidence behind it.
