I have recently just gotten into skin care, and I just want to say thank you!

During my childhood there was always a stigma revolving around males involving themselves in things like this. Taking care of yourself was a sign of "weakness" and could lead to ostracization. As a social creature, we fear rejection. It is only now in my early 20's that I have worked past the brainwash of my previous social circles preventing me from taking care of my body.

I had been watching a bunch of videos on skincare which were aesthetically pleasing but it constantly felt like they were just selling products as "influencers" and I was being misguided by fancy graphics and expensive cameras.

Thank you for being a stellar human being! ♥️ You are empowering all of us to do what is truly right for ourselves.

I had to take hydrolyzed collagen as a treatment after falling down the stairs of my apartment building & injuring my hips, legs & feet ... tbh I can't remember if it improved my skin but it did improve my hair better than any other thing I ever used or tried

I exercise a lot. I just know that since I started taking collagen my joints don´t suffer that much and I recover much sooner.

I have been taking collagen powder supplements for nearly a year. I will continue taking it because I see the difference in my hair and skin health. Skin looks plumper and softer. Good skin care and sun protection also helps to keep healthy youthful skin.

Haha thanks! Kinda needed this right now to help explaining my friend not to do a bad buy! Almost all of the top bloggers in Norway (or as we call them, rosa(pink) bloggers) are being sponsored and trying to sell a supplement, "skin repair", and almost all are emphasising on, and trying to sell it as a acne product, and I was like, "wait...that's not how this works...it might help but not like how they describe it???" And when I checked the website, THEY never said anything about acne, but rather just the "get better, smother skin!", but besides the "collagen" peptan, it also had zinc, vitamin c, and a! So like....as you said...is it really the collagen, or is it the other stuff? And also it's like 40$ a month. So thanks for saving my friend's money! 😂

Collagen does work; however, to enhance efficiency, it needs to be supplemented with Vit C.

Vit.C is involved in the collagene proteins production. So I prefer to intake 1 g of ascorbic acid x day. One year test. My skin is luminous and plumped, my gums are healthy and no more period pains.

I've been taking collagen supplements for almost a month now and they've helped make my lips plumper, my nails stronger, and my hair grow faster. Can't comment on wrinkles/skin since I'm only 19.

Back when I was on the keto diet, I took collagen supplements every day and saw huge improvements in my nails and hair. Not so much in my skin though, sadly. But that could've been because I had just started birth control and my skin was breaking out as my body was adjusting to the hormones. All in all, I love collagen just for what it does for my nails alone lol they were so naturally long and strong, and they'd never been that way before.

She is absolutely correct!!! Vit is needed for collagen production and it is a great antioxidants! Prevention is the key! Love it!

That seems to be a big issue when aging. When we are younger, our bodies produce more of a larger supply of what our bodies need: Taurine, Tyrosine, Collagen, Glycine, Choline, Citicoline...etc... but people start realizing that they need to put vitamins and minerals into their diets once they figure out that their bodies are deteriorating. It seems to me that the sooner that people can hinder the deterioration process before it begins, the more they can maintain their youthful appearances.. also considering if they are drinking enough water and not overexposing their skin to the sun.
