How the heck did Amarok get 'best package' with lower safety kit, less off-road capability & higher running costs? That makes no sense 😕 As a prospective buyer they would be my most compelling points to buy.

2. Triton
3. Colorado
4. D-Max

The lack of rear airbags in the VW is clearly a joke. They can't possibly be serious about safety without them.

Amarok is not a real pickup truck. It doesn't have a heavy duty suspension to carry a load in the back and passengers at the same time. It uses a lighter duty leaf spring that why it's so comfortable. The vehicle can only carry 800+ kg and that's for passengers and load in the back. It's more like a light duty SUV but the ground clearance is awful. Nice tc however. The Mitsubishi seems to be the best all-rounder and the Ford is also good. The Toyota is not the best.

Best overall package? The exterior of thing hasn't changed in ten years. Give it a facelift already.

So I take from that if I want a show pony that empties your wallet and has all the whistles and bells that most people won't need or use and " just more shit to go wrong" and in time it will rest assured
then buy a VW or Ford . If it's a true day to day family friendly work ute load hauler then bt50 Hilux Dmax triton etc are the way to go tried and trued over the years .

If i was looking for a serious 4WD ute, i'd be looking at cab-over Isuzu small tray truck. not a weekend warrior wank job
